Calliope Pictures is an independent film production company featuring the films of Bruce Gorman, Jr.  All based on original screenplays, Calliope Pictures features narrative films on various subjects ranging from the life of a homeless convict, to historical dramas, to a man who is harassed by a dark clown who lives in his employer's parking lot, and who only he can see.  

Bruce ‘s debut short film, Thurman Comes Home (2017), garnered five film festival awards, including Best Short Film at the Ocktober Film Festival (NYC) and Atlantic City Cinefest; was a Finalist at Chelsea Film Festival; and has appeared on Reel 13 on New York City’s PBS station Channel Thirteen. 

His first feature film, The Clown (2018), won Best Actor (Kenneth Cueva) and Best Director at the 2018 Atlantic City Cinefest, and was among the feature film selections at Reading Film Fest, Great Lakes Film Festival, and the Festival of Cinema NYC.

Another short film, East River Story (2022), won the Audience Award at a shorts screening in Charlottesville, Virginia; a Best Short Film award at Atlantic City Cinefest and at the Carolina Black Film Festival; Best Actor for Richard Bird at the Queens City Film Festival; and Best Supporting Actor for Tomike Ogugua at the Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival. East River Story also aired regularly on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network.

His most recent film, Weekend at the Agamemnons (2024), starring Austin Pendleton, is currently on the festival circuit.

Bruce is currently in development on his next short film project, The Company, to star Austin Pendleton, as well as his upcoming law series, Courtroom Story.
